Learning Goal: I’m working on a management question and need support to help me learn.
Create an RFP (Request For Proposal) for a potential host city for a major sports event
- Create an RFP for a potential host city for a major sports event
- Objective: Write an RFP using the guidelines given in your text (page 411 to page 423 of the text, which I’ll share with you)
- Step 1: Read Play 4 (The P.P. presentation that I shared with you) and the “Sample Host City Request for Proposal” (page 411 to page 423 of the text, which I’ll with you).
- Step 2: Use the “Sample Host City Request for Proposal” (page 411 to page 423 of the text, which I’ll share with you) as your guide and follow the same format and Table of Content titles.
- Step 3: Choose the Sports Tournament and 3 cities you are inviting to respond to the RFP (It must be cities within the USA). Create a 12 point type Word Doc.
- – First, the obvious: Event organizers cannot stage sports events without a location. Now, what this can seem obscure: how to identify and secure the best possible site for an event for all concerned. Play 4 (The P.P. presentation that I shared with you) examines the essential elements involved in this all-important process.
Host cities, event facilities, and event organizers–the three primary participants in this process–each have requirements and interests that must be substantively understood and satisfied for all to achieve their desired results. A practical analysis into what each of the participants really wants within the three-sided association is provided in this chapter (The P.P. presentation that I shared with you).
Figure 4.1 (Which you’ll find in the P.P. presentation that I shared with you) and its accompanying line-by-line itemization transform what is often considered a complicated and controversial calculation to determine–a sports event’s economic impact on a community–into a simple, sound formula that serve as a useful tool for an organizer. Other figures and examples in the chapter (the P.P. presentation that I shared with you) offer similarly applicable insights, in addition to the Sample Host City Request for Proposal in Appendix 3 (page 411 to page 423 of the text, which I’ll share you).
Particular attention is paid to the progression of putting together and evaluating a Request for Proposal (RFP), guidelines for the organizer when negotiating with a venue, and counsel for establishing the crucial, collaborative relationship between the event and a host city. The Facility Selection Survey Form (a sample of which is available in Appendix 6, which are pages 437 to 440, which I’ll share with you as well) will almost certainly be determined to be a necessity, not just a notion, by a detail-oriented sports event organizer.
NOTE: I’LL BE SHARING, BOTH, THE REQUIRED PAGES OF THE TEXT AND THE CHAPTER’S P.P. PRESENTATION (WHICH IS ALREADY ATTACHED BELOW). BOTH ARE REQUIRED FOR COMPLETING THIS ASSIGNMENT.
