Help with Homework
Learning Goal: I’m working on a communications multi-part question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.
Part 1: Interpreting the Past: The Legacy of Lewis and Clark
One of the main jobs of historians is to interpret the past by reviewing primary documents, scholarly secondary sources, and then creating an analysis of this research. After reading your text and reviewing the assigned materials, submit an analysis of the Lewis and Clark expedition.
You might want to consider the following questions, but you are not limited to them: What stood out to you about their expedition? What is the legacy of their findings and exploration of the Louisiana Territory? What do you think was their most important discovery?
This assignment should be at least 300 words and contain your reactions or questions about some specific issue within the historical narrative that you find compelling.
Part 2: Discussion post Francis Scott Key
After reviewing the sources on Francis Scott Key and reading all verses of the Star Spangled Banner please discuss how much thought you’ve previously given to the story behind our national anthem. Does knowing the background behind the song change your feelings about it? Most Americans only know the first verse, what are your impressions of the other three verses?
To receive full credit for this assignment your post must:
Address the questions asked in the paragraph above in at least a 300-word post and cite all outside sources appropriately
In your initial post, include at least one interesting question the readings raised for you

Part 3: Interpreting the Past: Andrew Jackson – Success or Failure?
One of the main jobs of historians is to interpret the past by reviewing primary documents, scholarly secondary sources, and then creating an analysis of this research. After reading your text and reviewing the assigned materials, submit an analysis of Andrew Jackson’s presidency.
In President Jackson’s First Annual Message to Congress he established four goals of his presidency: Indian Removal, Rotation in Office, to get rid of the Bank of the United States, and to erase the debt. Based upon what Jackson hoped to accomplish, could his presidency be considered a success or a failure (not good or bad)? Pick two of his goals to discuss further to support your conclusion.
