Learning Goal: I’m working on a writing discussion question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.

You demonstrate a general understanding of each author’s main points. However, rather than just a summary, I would like to see more analysis of their work and how they argued their position in regards to the successes or failures of Reconstruction. Moreover, a historical essay needs an introduction that presents the main themes that will be developed throughout the essay’s body and most importantly a clear thesis statement. Also you need to cite when using other’s works even when you are paraphrasing .
