Learning Goal: I’m working on a science multi-part question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.
We’ve just covered the topic of wave/particle duality for both light and matter. Of course, most things that we deal with on a normal basis will not exhibit the properties of waves (they’re too large). Mathematically, this occurs because Planck’s Constant (h) is an extremely small number (~10-34).
For this essay, I want you to consider and discuss the nature of our interactions with everyday objects if Planck’s Constant were much larger and the wave nature of these objects were evident.Specifically, what would change about our perception of reality if everyday (particle) objects behaved more like quantum waves?
Examples:
Probability?
Interference?
Diffraction?
Doppler Shifts?
